Psychology and Counselling
for Surrey Families
Virtual sessions from home, or a direct Expo Line ride to our downtown office
Surrey clients come to us for everything from a child's school assessment to couples counselling to support through a hard season of life. Because Surrey is large and commutes can be long, many of our Surrey clients start with virtual therapy and travel downtown only when an in-person visit is needed.
When you do come in, the Expo Line runs from King George, Surrey Central, Gateway and Scott Road stations to Granville Station without a transfer. Our office at 470 Granville Street is a short walk away.
Care That Fits Surrey Households
Therapy in Punjabi
Gurjot Chhina, a supervised doctoral student, offers therapy and assessment in English and Punjabi. Talking about family, culture and expectations in the language you think in can make a real difference.
Support for the whole family
Our team works with children, teens, adults, couples and families. Dr. Irene Matijczak sees couples and families, and our school psychologist focuses on children's learning and development.
Help after trauma
Select clinicians are registered with BC's Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), which can cover part of the fee for eligible clients recovering from a traumatic experience.

Questions from Surrey Clients
Can I do therapy in Punjabi?
Yes. Gurjot Chhina offers sessions in English and Punjabi under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Mention your language preference when you book.
Do I have to come downtown?
Not for therapy, which can be fully virtual. Psychological and autism assessments include in-person testing at our Vancouver office, usually one to three sessions of about four hours each.
Does insurance cover it?
Coverage depends on your plan. Many extended health plans cover registered psychologists, and fees that are not covered can be claimed as a medical expense on your taxes. Some clinicians are also registered with CVAP.
Can my teenager join a group?
Yes. Our adolescent group is for ages 13 to 18, runs virtually for eight weeks, and is led by registered psychologists.
